Aboutthe Role The Process ControlEngineer primarily applies principles, knowledge, and practices of processcontrols for timely identification, analysis and resolution of process controlsrelated issues to ensure safe, reliable, and cost-efficient plant operations.
TheProcess Control Engineer also utilizes current and new industry accepteddevelopments to improve plant performance and reliability, which includesinitiating and developing control system modifications and new projects.
TheProcess Control Engineer supports Operations, Maintenance, the ProcessEngineering Team and Capital Projects Team in the areas of project management,development of budgets and execution of the Manufacturing Policy and Plan.
A focus on health, safetyand the environment are essential.
The candidate selectedmust be available to be on call for plant emergencies, must be willing to worknights or weekends when required for plant outages.
Also, must be able to workinside and outside the plant in all-weather conditions.
KeyAccountabilitiesHealth, Safety, Security& Environment (HSSE) Support and promote a pro-active HSSE culture within theOrganization and develop leadership skills in HSSE.
Ensure and improve effective HSSE management, Risk Management, Incident Management Response, and Asset Management Support full compliance to HSSE related legislation ulations, corporate requirements, and management system(s) (i.

,operating policies and procedures) Plant Controls Monitoring,Optimization, Troubleshooting and Root Cause Analysis Develop and implement appropriate systems for plant/processcontrols maintenance, monitoring, and optimization Provide process control engineering assistance/support to theOperations and Maintenance Teams as required for process controls and datahistory Provide evaluations on assigned and self-initiated tasks(identifying, analyzing, and recommending actions to address abnormaland inefficient plant controls and data history systems) Participate in and at times lead incident investigation teamsfor troubleshooting and determining root cause of plant issues/problems Review and recommend changes to the plant control loops,cause and effect matrix, alarm list, etc.
, to improve plant reliabilityand protect plant assets Engineering Support forSafe and Sustained Plant Operations Initiate, develop and implement strategies for applying new and/orenhancements to existing technologies to improve operating efficiency Develop control systems projects within all degrees ofcomplexity, ensuring compliance and adherence to accepted industry bestpractices Understand and comply with the Management of Change (MOC)process Participate in 'What Ifs' and HAZOP studies Apply basic project management skills - budget and scheduletracking Be up to date with and apply state of the artdevelopments/technologies applicable to the pellet industry, as required Plant Shutdowns andTurnarounds Provide necessary process control engineering support toguide the timing of plant shutdowns and turnarounds Provide process control engineering expertise on plantshutdown and turnaround activities - planning and execution phases Capital ExpenditureProjects Identify projects, supported with written justification, forinclusion in capital expenditure budgets Work with contractors and outside vendors/suppliers for thepurpose of developing project concepts, quoting, developing scope of workand cost justifications regarding projects Procedure Development Develop special procedures that involve process controlengineering knowledge, e.

, maintenance and management of controlsystems, executing changes to configurations, graphics, control loops,PLCs, shutdown systems, etc.
Provide process control engineering support in thedevelopment and review of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) Report, ProductionForecasts and Budgets Support the development and generation of relevant managementproduction and consumption reports Support the generation of operating budgets AboutYou Bachelor's Degree in related field or ten years of experiencein process control with a high school diploma or equivalent Minimum of three years of experience in Process ControlEngineering occupation Experience in programming and maintenance of Human MachineInterfaces (HMI), Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS), and ProgrammableLogic Control (PLC) systems Experience with PLC programming Software:
