Clinical Psychologist (Specialty Program Coordinator - Resolve)

Functions as a Specialty Program Coordinator for a general residential mental health program approved by Central Office or any one of the following Psychology Services Department Specialty Programs:
Steps Toward Awareness, Growth, and Emotional Strength Program, Bureau Responsibility and Values Enhancement Program, Challenge Program, Skills Program, Resolve Program, Stepdown Unit Program, Female Integrated Treatment Program, or Advanced Care Level Treatment Program. Responsible for the provision of highly-skilled professional services and serves as a resource person to other psychologists, staff members, and operating officials. Responsible for developing, implementing, coordinating, and evaluating the specialty treatment program and for coordinating and evaluating all activities within the specialty treatment program. Responsible for initiating a treatment program and for implementing and monitoring the treatment program in compliance with BOP policy.Along with all other correctional institution employees, incumbent is charged with responsibility for maintaining security of the institution. The staffs correctional responsibilities precede all others required by this position and are performed on a regular and recurring basis. Basic Requirements:
Satisfactory completion of all the requirements for a doctoral degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) directly related to full professional work in clinical psychology is required. AND In addition to the basic requirements, applicants must have:

There is no substitution of education for specialized experience for this position.

At least one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade level. To be creditable, this experience must have equipped the applicant with the particular qualifications to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically be in or related to the position to be filled. Some examples of the qualifying experience are:
GS-12:
Experience in planning and performing both individual and group psychotherapy on a regularly scheduled basis. Experience in providing assessment and referral services for staff referred to Psychology Services by their supervisors or for staff personally requesting assistance with problems of alcohol use, drug use, or emotional problems which are affecting job performance. Experience in assisting in interdisciplinary classification of inmates by identifying behavioral, emotional, organic, and personality deficiencies, or drug/alcohol habituation. Experience in conducting a wide variety of interviews and crisis intervention sessions. Experience in training staff in how to recognize and deal with emotional, behavioral, and personality disorders. GS-13:
Developing, implementing, coordinating, and evaluating the specialty treatment program and for coordinating and evaluating all activities within the specialty treatment program. Administering, scoring, and interpreting a wide variety of psychological testing instruments and procedures, including objective and projective instruments of personality assessment, intelligence tests, and tests and inventories of interests, aptitude, criminality, and achievement. Preparing numerous psychological reports such as court ordered study and observation cases, appraisals of changes in attitudes, personality, dynamics and overall level of adjustment resulting from participation in programs or projects. Planning and performing both individual and group psychotherapy on a regularly scheduled basis. If applicable, credit will be given for paid and unpaid experience. To receive proper credit, you must show the actual time (such as number of hours worked per week) spent in the activities. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
